Babylon Medical Students Sit for the End-of-Course Examination in Intedicine
Over the course of three days, the end-of-course clinical examination for sixth-year students in the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon was conducted in the wards of Marjan Teaching Hospital. The examinations were supervised and followed up byernal M the Internal Medicine Branch rapporteur, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nihad Abdullah Al-Jubouri, with the participation of the hospital director, Dr. Fadel Al-Sultani, faculty members of the department, physicians from the Babylon Health Directorate, teaching assistants, and senior resident doctors.
The exam included several OSCE stations, designed to assess students’ skills in internal medicine, clinical examination, and emergency case management. It also included the long-case examination, which presented students with a variety of internal medicine cases. Each student was required to take a detailed medical history, present the case to the examiner, perform the clinical examination, and discuss the patient’s condition, complications, diagnostic approach, necessary investigations, and different treatment options. The exams proceeded smoothly and efficiently, without any notable issues.
For his part, the Head of the Internal Medicine Branch, Prof. Dr. Hassan Salem Abdul-Sada Al-Jumaili, praised the tremendous efforts of the hospital administration, particularly consultant Dr. Fadel Al-Sultani, for facilitating all procedures and providing access to the wards and clinical cases needed for the student examinations. He also highlighted Dr. Al-Sultani’s significant role in participating in the examination committees alongside a distinguished group of specialist physicians in the city.
