Faculty Member from the College of Medicine – University of Babylon Participates in a Conference in Karbala Prof. Dr. Ameer Ahmed Al-Jabawi, a faculty member in the Internal Medicine Department at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, participated in the First Cardiology Conference held at the Imam Al-Hasan Al-Mujtaba Center for Cardiac Surgery and Catheterization in Karbala. His participation included chairing the session dedicated to interventional catheter-based treatments for heart diseases. He also delivered a scientific lecture titled: “The Right Decision in Treating Acute Myocardial Infarction Saves the Patient in Cardiogenic Shock.” His presentation addressed how to make critical and accurate decisions at each stage of patient management—decisions that can be life-saving. The conference discussed both surgical and catheter-based interventions for heart diseases, and a clinical case was presented of a patient who suffered an acute anterior myocardial infarction accompanied by cardiogenic shock shortly after undergoing a prostatectomy. This conference is considered one of the most significant scientific events specializing in interventional cardiology, where clinical cases are selected for presentation according to the latest international standards. At the conclusion of the conference, Dr. Al-Jabawi was honored with the “Shield of Excellence and Creativity” by the Governor of Karbala and the Director General of Karbala Health Directorate in appreciation of his active participation in the conference activities.
