Department of Physiology Organizes Field Visit to Al-Waeli Secondary School for Boys to Promote Health Awareness Based on the directives of the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, and as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to serve the community and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Department of Physiology organized an educational field visit to Al-Waeli Secondary School for Boys in Babylon Province. The visit was conducted under the direct supervision of the Head of the Department, Professor Farah Nabeel Abbas, with the participation of a distinguished group of faculty members from the department, accompanied by a group of first-year medical students. The initiative aimed to promote health awareness and highlight key health issues relevant to young people and the wider community. It also sought to strengthen the university’s role in achieving SDG 4: Quality Education, by extending medical knowledge beyond academic settings, enhancing communication skills among first-year students, and connecting them with real community needs from the beginning of their academic journey. This visit forms part of a series of outreach activities organized by the College of Medicine to enhance health culture among secondary school students and to provide evidence-based guidance that contributes to building a generation that is both health-aware and intellectually engaged, in alignment with the vision of the University of Babylon in serving the local community.
