Under the Patronage of the Deanship of the College of Medicine, the Department of Internal Medicine Holds a Specialized Workshop on “Fetal Echocardiography”
As part of its continuous efforts to develop the clinical skills of medical staff, the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Advancing Clinical Skills in Fetal Echocardiography.”
The workshop was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, and with direct follow-up by Professor Hassan Salem Al-Jumaili, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine. The event took place in the hall of Imam Al-Sadiq Teaching Hospital, with technical support from Mindray and Sham Health Company (Türkiye).
The workshop featured distinguished scientific management, with sessions chaired by Professor Uday Jassim Al-Salihi, and membership of Professor Hassan Salem Al-Jumaili and Assistant Professor Hasnain Mohammed Saeed.
The workshop program included a series of specialized lectures and interactive sessions delivered by leading consultant faculty members, including:
1. Indications for Fetal Echocardiography
Presented by Professor Mohend Khudhair Al-Ghanimi
2. Segmental Approach to Fetal Echocardiography
Presented by Assistant Professor Zainab Fallah Hassan
3. Assessment of Fetal Cardiac Arrhythmias
Presented by Assistant Professor Ahlam Kadhim Aboud
The workshop witnessed broad attendance and participation from cardiac echocardiography specialists representing various Iraqi governorates, in addition to specialists in internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and ultrasound, as well as postgraduate students enrolled in Diploma programs in Echocardiography from several Iraqi universities.
The organizing committee also acknowledged the important contribution of obstetrics and gynecology specialists who enriched the workshop through the presentation of real clinical cases, including:

• Dr. Sima Lilo (Imam Al-Sadiq Teaching Hospital)
The workshop concluded with honoring the lecturers and supervising faculty members in recognition of their outstanding scientific contributions and in affirmation of the importance of such academic activities in advancing diagnostic and clinical services in Iraq.
