College of Medicine, University of Babylon Holds a Scientific Symposium on Spring Allergy and Immune Disorders
Under the generous patronage and distinguished attendance of the President of the University of Babylon, Professor Amin Ajeel Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, the Continuing Medical Education Division at the College of Medicine organized, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, a specialized scientific symposium entitled:
“Spring Allergy and Immune Disorders: Causes and Methods of Treatment”
The symposium was held within the framework of joint cooperation between the College of Medicine, the DNA Research Center at the Presidency of the University of Babylon, and the Babylon Directorate of Health, and was attended by the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Professor Samir Suwadi Al-Jubouri, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Ashraf Mohammed Ali Hussein, along with a number of heads of scientific departments and faculty members.
The scientific event was organized under the supervision of:
• Professor Ilham Abbas Binyan, Director of the Continuing Medical Education Division at the College
• Professor Lubna Al-Bayati, Director of the DNA Research Center
The scientific session was chaired by:
• Professor Mohammed Abdul Kadhim Al-Saadi (Chair)
• Assistant Professor Haider Qasim Rahim (Rapporteur)
The symposium included two scientific lectures focusing on diagnostic and therapeutic aspects, delivered by specialist physicians from the Babylon Directorate of Health:
First Lecture:
Presented by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Ajrash, who discussed the clinical perspective of spring allergy and the latest therapeutic protocols currently in use.
Second Lecture:
Presented by Dr. Raheem Ta’ma Al-Maamouri, who highlighted the precise immunological mechanisms underlying immune disorders and the body’s interaction with external triggers.
The symposium witnessed broad participation from academics and staff of the College of Medicine and the DNA Research Center. It also featured extensive scientific discussions and constructive contributions, reflecting the importance of the topic at the present time.
At the conclusion of the symposium, the College Deanship awarded certificates of appreciation to the lecturers in recognition of their distinguished efforts and their valuable contribution to enriching scientific content and promoting medical knowledge in support of the healthcare and academic sectors within the province.
