College of Medicine, University of Babylon Holds a Scientific Symposium on Ovarian Reserve and Mechanisms of Reproductive Aging
With the distinguished attendance of the President of the University of Babylon, Professor Amin Al-Yasiri, and under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Department of Physiology and Medical Physics, Professor Farah Nabeel Abbas, the Department of Physiology (Physiology and Medical Physics), in cooperation with the Departments of Microbiology and Obstetrics & Gynecology, organized a specialized scientific symposium within the activities of the Continuing Medical Education Unit, entitled:
“Ovarian Reserve Across the Lifespan: Mechanisms, Decline, Immune Influences, and Therapeutic Approaches”
This symposium was organized in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
• Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
• Goal 4: Quality Education
• Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
The symposium included four valuable scientific lectures delivered by distinguished faculty members of the College:
1?? First Lecture:
Presented by Professor Hanan Abdul Jabbar, addressing “Physiology of the Ovary and Ovarian Aging.”
2?? Second Lecture:
Presented by Professor Ifad Karim Al-Shibli, focusing on “Immunological Causes of Ovarian Aging.”
3?? Third Lecture:
Presented by Assistant Professor Zeina Hammad Mohammed, reviewing “Premature Ovarian Failure.”
4?? Fourth Lecture:
Presented by Professor Bushra Al-Rubaie, discussing “Ovarian Aging and Fertility Management.”
The symposium targeted faculty members of the College and witnessed strong engagement from attendees through active scientific discussions and contributions. Through such activities, the College aims to update medical knowledge, highlight recent advances in the mechanisms underlying ovarian reserve decline and immune influences, and review modern therapeutic approaches that support improved clinical fertility management.
