Babylon Medical College Holds Training Workshop to Follow Up on Specialized Programmatic Accreditation Requirements The Quality Assurance Division and the Medical Education Unit at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, in collaboration with the Babylon Health Directorate, organized a specialized workshop to discuss and evaluate the requirements of the nine domains of programmatic accreditation. The workshop was attended by members of the college’s accreditation committees. This workshop comes as a continuation of the college’s sustained efforts following its active participation in the intensive training course conducted by the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq, which spanned nine weeks. The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, along with the Scientific and Administrative Assistants. The session was chaired by Professor Adel Hassan Al-Hindawi, Director of the Medical Education Unit, and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Ajrash, Director of the Training and Human Development Center at the Babylon Health Directorate. During the workshop, coordinators of the nine domains presented detailed briefings on the accreditation requirements achieved within each domain. In-depth discussions were also held regarding current procedures, along with the development of improvement plans aimed at enhancing the educational process and ensuring alignment with international standards, in support of specialized programmatic accreditation goals. It is worth noting that the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon has previously achieved a distinguished milestone by obtaining specialized programmatic accreditation recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education, reflecting the college’s ongoing commitment to advancing the quality of medical education and improving its academic outcomes in line with global standards.
