The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The institution is made up of 21 colleges spread across three main locations in Hilla. The central university campus is in the medical colleges complex in the center of Hilla -Al-Iskan.

The University of Babylon ranked first among Iraqi universities in digital resources and indexed educational materials, with over 84,000 academic resources. The university president and assistant president for scientific affairs acknowledged the dedicated efforts of faculty and technical staff, as well as the roles played by the Electronic Computing Center and the Multimedia and E-Learning Center. The university has outlined plans to sustain leadership in e-learning and keep up with technological advancements. The Multimedia and E-Learning Center continues to train teaching and technical staff on the latest in e-learning, including producing recorded video lectures using state-of-the-art equipment.
