As part of the continuous medical education activities at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, in collaboration with Marjan Teaching Hospital, the Internal Medicine Department organized an extensive scientific lecture on the latest updates about cholera. The lecture took place in Dr. Nabil Abbas Hall at Marjan Hospital and was attended by faculty members and doctors from Babil Health Department.Dr. Mohammed Fadel Al-Musawi, a faculty member in the Internal Medicine Department, delivered the scientific lecture, stating that cholera is a highly contagious and severe disease that can lead to acute watery diarrhea. The symptoms manifest within a range of 12 hours to 5 days after exposure to contaminated food or water. Cholera affects both children and adults and can be fatal within hours if not treated.The lecture covered the latest scientific developments regarding cholera and emphasized awareness of its importance, preventive measures, early diagnosis, and treatment following the protocols of the Iraqi Ministry of Health.
