The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The institution is made up of 21 colleges spread across three main locations in Hilla. The central university campus is in the medical colleges complex in the center of Hilla -Al-Iskan.

Dr. Muhannad Abbas Al-Shalah, Dean of the College of Medicine, was involved in welcoming Dr. Naeem Abdul Yasser Al-Aboudi, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during his visit to the University of Babil. They initiated the construction of classroom projects for medical group colleges in the presence of key figures. Al-Aboudi commended the university's achievements in global and local rankings, stressed the importance of implementing the Bologna Process in Iraqi universities, and emphasized community engagement. The visit included inspections of various facilities and highlighted plans to enhance university infrastructure for increased productivity, showcasing academic accomplishments and advancements in infrastructure. The focus is on adopting modern scientific practices, particularly within the Bologna Process and "Study in Iraq" program, and being responsive to the needs of citizens and students.
