The Dean of the College of Medicine _University of Babylon Welcomes the Swedish Medical Advisory Delegation

Professor Dr. Muhannad Abbas Al-Shallah, Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon, welcomed the Swedish medical advisory delegation in his office. The delegation included:
• Dr. Mamdouh Kazem Hassan Al-Amiri, Consultant in Thoracic Surgery, working at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm.
• Dr. Yahya Jalil Majid Al-Saffar, Consultant in Neurosurgery, also working at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm.
• Dr. Mohammed Redhaoui Salman Al-Haris, Consultant in Cardiology and Vascular Diseases, working in the Intensive Care Unit for Cardiac Diseases at M?larsjukhuset Hospital in Sweden.
• Sheikh Dr. Qaisar Faisal Hamoud.

The meeting was attended by the scientific and administrative assistants, along with:
• Professor Dr. Amer Ajrash Al-Khafaji, Chairman of the Arab Board of Pediatric Surgery.
• Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Sabih Al-Saffar, Consultant in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and faculty member in the Surgery Department.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean warmly welcomed the distinguished guests. Discussions then focused on the possibility of scientific collaboration between the College of Medicine at Babylon University and representatives of the expatriate medical community in Sweden. The aim was to coordinate joint academic and medical initiatives with Iraq, enriching Iraqi expertise with the latest advancements in medical and academic fields.

Dean Dr. Al-Shallah emphasized the necessity of activating the Visiting Professor Program to facilitate the exchange of expertise between the Swedish educational system and Babylon College of Medicine. He also highlighted the importance of transferring this knowledge to students through twinning programs with Swedish medical schools, especially since Babylon College of Medicine has obtained international academic accreditation and has established scientific collaborations with the University of Leicester (UK) and Leipzig University (Germany).

At the conclusion of the meeting, the visiting delegation expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality. They also affirmed their full support for expanding cooperation frameworks to enhance the educational process.
