Scientific Visit of Outstanding High School Students to Babylon Medical College The College of Medicine at the University of Babylon welcomed a group of teachers and students from the Outstanding High School for a scientific visit aimed at introducing them to the nature of medical studies, as well as the academic departments and laboratories of the college. The visitors were greeted and welcomed by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Abbas Al-Shallah, in the presence of the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mohammed Ali Hussein. Following this, Assistant Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Adnan Jabir and Mr. Samir Sabri Al-Najjar accompanied the students on a tour of the college and its laboratories, providing detailed explanations about the function and significance of each laboratory, which sparked great interaction among the students and led to many inquiries about various medical topics. Key Stops of the Visit: • Anatomy Lab: Students were introduced to how the lab operates, received a brief explanation, and participated in a small test. • Medical Physics Lab: They listened to a concise explanation of scientific experiments conducted there. • Histology Lab: Students learned about key subjects studied by medical students. • Central Library: They explored the college’s main library and its resources. Objective of the Visit The primary goal of this visit was to introduce students to the College of Medicine, its academic departments, and the medical profession, emphasizing its humanitarian role in serving society. The visit aimed to motivate students to work hard, excel in their studies, and benefit from this experience in their future careers. At the end of the visit, the teachers and students expressed their gratitude to the college administration for their warm hospitality, wishing continued progress and success for Babylon Medical College
