The College relies on the principles of using the most recent scientific methods in teaching and the developed scientific methods to graduate doctors with international standards to cope with the labour market and provide the best health services to society

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. Distinguished Participation of the College of Medicine – University of Babylon in the Academic Accreditation Workshop for Iraqi Medical Colleges A delegation from the College of Medicine, University of Babylon took part in the specialized workshop organized by the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq (NCAMC), under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa in Karbala, held from April 9–10, 2025. The workshop was attended by Professor Dr. Yusra Abdul Rahman Mahmoud, Chairperson of the Iraqi Council for Medical College Accreditation, Professor Dr. Ali Abd Saadoun Al-Ghazzi, Dean of the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiyaa University, along with members of the Accreditation Council and the National Assessors Team. The delegation from the University of Babylon included: • Professor Dr. Muhannad Abbas Al-Shallah, Dean of the College and member of the national assessment team (leader of groups 5 and 6) • Professor Dr. Adel Hassan Al-Hindawi, member of the Accreditation Council (responsible for Domain 3) • Professor Dr. Mohammed Abd Kazem, national assessor (leader of groups 1 and 3) and one of the workshop lecturers. The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of the national assessor team through interactive sessions and intensive lectures over two days. As part of the program, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abd Kazem delivered a highly engaging lecture on feedback following national assessors’ site visits. At the conclusion of the workshop, several recommendations were submitted to further advance the accreditation process across Iraqi medical colleges. It is worth noting that the Iraqi Council for the Accreditation of Medical Colleges has recently achieved a major milestone by receiving international recognition from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), officially qualifying it to grant international accreditation to Iraqi medical colleges that meet its standards
