The Department of Microbiology Organizes a Tree-Planting and Flower-Planting Campaign at the College of Medicine
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, the Department of Microbiology, in cooperation with the College’s Agriculture Unit, organized a campaign to plant trees and flowers in the college corridors and gardens.
The campaign included planting a variety of perennial seedlings and seasonal flowers suitable for the local environmental conditions. This initiative aims to add a pleasant aesthetic touch to the college entrances and walkways, provide a psychologically comfortable environment for students and staff, help reduce pollution, increase oxygen levels within the university campus, and strengthen the spirit of cooperation among academic staff and administrative and technical units.
Field implementation was supervised by the Department of Microbiology staff, with direct follow-up from specialists in the Agriculture Unit, who provided the necessary guidance on planting methods and selecting the most appropriate locations to ensure the continued growth of the plants.
In turn, the Dean praised this initiative, emphasizing that the college is always committed to developing its facilities in a way that supports the scientific and environmental mission of the University of Babylon.
