Babylon Medical Students Undergo Practical Surgery Examination
The clinical surgery examination for sixth-year students at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, was conducted in the private wing wards of Al-Hilla Teaching Hospital. The exam included slide-based questions covering neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, and radiology.
It also included an OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination), with stations designed to assess students’ skills in general surgery, clinical examination, and more. The long-case component involved a variety of surgical questions, where students were required to take a detailed medical history, present the case to the examiner, perform a physical examination, discuss the clinical condition, potential complications, diagnostic steps, and treatment options.
The examination was conducted with the participation of faculty members from the department and physicians from the Babylon Health Directorate. The process was smooth and well-organized, without any notable issues.
