Faculty Member from the University of Babylon Chairs the Committee for Establishing a Master’s Program at the College of Medicine – Thi-Qar University
Prof. Dr. Abdul-Sameea Hassan Al-Ta’i, a faculty member in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, chaired the committee responsible for evaluating the establishment of a Master’s degree program in Clinical Chemistry at the College of Medicine, University of Thi-Qar. The committee included experts in the field of biochemistry, who conducted an on-site review to assess whether the necessary requirements for launching the program were met.
During the visit, the team held a meeting with the college leadership, represented by Dean Prof. Dr. Wajdi Jabbar Majid, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs Dr. Ali Abdul-Baqi, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs Dr. Faez Khalaf, Head of the Biochemistry Department Dr. Lamis Majid Al-Janabi, Director of the Quality Assurance Department Dr. Ali Badr Romi, and a number of academic staff from the department.
The purpose of the visit was to conduct a field evaluation of the infrastructure needed to establish the master’s program in Clinical Chemistry, including laboratories, libraries, lecture halls, and to verify their compliance with the requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
This initiative comes after a formal request by the College’s Dean and the University Presidency to the Ministry of Higher Education, indicating the availability of the necessary conditions for launching the master’s program. The effort reflects the College’s strong commitment to advancing postgraduate studies, keeping pace with scientific research developments, and providing a qualified educational environment and specialized academic staff.
