Babylon College of Medicine Holds College Council Meeting
The College Council meeting was held under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Muhannad Abbas Al-Shalah, Dean of the College of Medicine, with the attendance of the Scientific Assistant, department heads, and Professor Dr. Naseer Jawad Hamad Al-Mukhtar, the representative of the Academics Syndicate. The Dean welcomed the attendees, wishing them continued success and excellence in all their assigned duties.
He also extended congratulations and appreciation to all faculty members on the occasion of the completion of the academic year, particularly to the heads of scientific departments, commending their dedicated efforts in successfully completing the exams and grading processes, especially given the increasing number of students.
The Dean praised the clinical examinations conducted in the teaching hospitals, describing them as successful and compliant with the approved standards and policies applied by the college in this field.
In the same context, the Dean instructed the issuance of letters of appreciation to all college staff members in recognition of their efforts in completing the academic year requirements with high success rates.
On the occasion of the holy month of Muharram, the Dean, on behalf of the College Council, extended heartfelt condolences to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), his pure household, and the entire Islamic nation on the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Master of the Youth of Paradise (Imam Al-Hussein, peace be upon him).
In alignment with the directives of the esteemed University Council and in observance of the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), it was decided that a number of doctors and students would participate in the university’s service procession.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of infrastructure projects, lecture halls, and laboratories, as well as the necessity of rationalizing expenditures and accelerating their completion on time before the start of the next academic year.
Finally, the Dean stressed the need to prepare for the second-round examinations, to compile the lists of students with pending exams, and to strictly adhere to the examination regulations, especially by exam hall supervisors and monitors, to ensure the proper and accurate conduct of the exams while also maintaining the students’ academic and moral well-being.
