College Council Meeting Held at the University of Babylon – College of Medicine
Chaired by Prof. Mohannad Abbass Al-Shalah, Dean of the College of Medicine, with the attendance of the Scientific Associate Dean, heads of departments, and Asst. Prof. Basim Abd Al-Ali Abd as Council Secretary, the College Council convened its meeting. The Dean welcomed the attendees, wishing them continued success in all their assigned duties, and congratulated them on the start of the new academic year, hoping it would be a year of prosperity and achievement in all fields.
The council then hosted Prof. Samir Sawadi Hamoud and Prof. Ameer Kazem Hussein on the occasion of the completion of their assignments as heads of the Departments of Physiology and Family & Community Medicine. They were honored with the Shield of Excellence and Creativity and presented with official letters of appreciation from the Council in recognition of their dedication, integrity, and outstanding leadership throughout their tenure. The Council wished them continued success in all academic and administrative endeavors.
The Dean stressed the need for full preparation for the new academic year, including the preparation of weekly class schedules, provision of all necessary infrastructure, completion of classrooms, and continuous updating of the curriculum directly by all scientific departments for each course. He emphasized that all lecture materials should be updated in accordance with the timetable, which must be finalized before the start of the first semester on September 21 of the current year.
Furthermore, the Dean directed the departments to prepare their academic plans for the 2025–2026 academic year, covering all teaching, research, and related aspects, with a focus on implementing the student system from the very beginning of the academic year and ensuring continuous communication between the departments, the Scientific Associate Dean, and the University Presidency regarding this matter.
