Curriculum Committee Meeting at the College of Medicine – University of Babylon
Chaired by the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, and Chairman of the Curriculum Committee, Professor Dr. Muhannad Abbass Al-Shalah, the committee held its regular meeting for the academic year 2025–2026 with the attendance of Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Ajrash, representative of the Babylon Health Directorate, along with committee members from all academic departments and the student representative.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean welcomed the attendees and commended their efforts throughout the academic year to advance the educational process at the College of Medicine. He emphasized the pivotal and active role of the Curriculum Committee, describing it as one of the most important committees in the college, entrusted with the task of designing, updating, and effectively implementing the academic curriculum.
The Dean also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the representative of the Babylon Health Directorate for attending the scientific committee meetings of the college, highlighting the integrative relationship between the College of Medicine and the Health Directorate, which positively contributes to the progress of the educational process.
The meeting agenda included several items related to the academic curriculum. It stressed the importance of each academic department actively participating in the formulation, review, and continuous updating of the curriculum, as well as submitting periodic reports on its implementation. Additionally, the committee discussed ensuring the availability of all necessary resources to support curriculum delivery. The meeting concluded with the adoption of the appropriate recommendations regarding the discussed items.
