A scientific lecture at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, on quality in blended education
As part of the ministerial program for developing teaching methods in Iraqi universities towards blended learning, within the eighth Training of Trainers (TOT) course for teaching methods, and under the activities of the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, the Department of Microbiology organized an educational lecture titled “Quality in Blended Education.”
The lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Hiyam Khalis Al-Masoudi and Professor Dr. Lamees Abdul Razzaq.
They explained that blended education has emerged as one of the most prominent modern educational approaches, combining traditional and electronic learning, which requires the application of quality standards to ensure its effectiveness. The aim of quality in blended learning is to improve content, interaction, and assessment in order to achieve more efficient and flexible learning.
The lecturers clarified that quality means that the design, implementation, and evaluation of blended education should be based on clear scientific foundations that ensure learner satisfaction and high learning outcomes.
They also pointed out that the goals of quality include improving both digital and face-to-face learning environments, ensuring consistency between content, activities, and assessment, and enhancing the trainee’s experience and continuous support, as well as understanding the concept of quality in blended education.
