Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon Meets Fourth-Year Students to Enhance the Quality of Medical Education As part of the College’s policy aimed at activating the role of monitoring and evaluation, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, met with a group of fourth-year students to open direct communication channels and obtain feedback related to the educational process. The meeting was attended by: • Asst. Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mohammed Ali Hussein (Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs) • Prof. Dr. Adel Hassan Al-Hindawi (Head of the Medical Education Unit) • Asst. Prof. Dr. Ru’a Salih Mahdi (Chair of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee) The discussion focused on teaching methods and practical/clinical training mechanisms. Prof. Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah and the administrative team listened to students’ observations and suggestions aimed at improving the standard of medical education. Key points addressed during the meeting included: analyzing current clinical training approaches and developing them, emphasizing the importance of student feedback as a cornerstone for evaluating academic performance, and strengthening interaction between students and the educational institution to ensure the quality of outcomes. In a pioneering step to reinforce the student’s role as a partner in development, it was proposed to establish a specialized team under the title “Student Medical Education Team.” The mission of this team is to represent the College’s students and submit their proposals periodically and in an organized manner to the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, ensuring continuous development and improvement. At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah praised the positive spirit and strong commitment shown by the students, affirming that their motivation and concern for their College’s standards are the main driving force for elevating “Babylon Medicine” to the highest levels within global medical education standards.
