Dean of the College of Medicine Participates in the 34th Anniversary Celebration of the University of Babylon
Professor Dr. Muhannad Abbas Al-Shallah, Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, along with a number of faculty members and staff, participated in the activities organized by the University of Babylon to mark its 34th anniversary under the slogan “34 Years of Giving, Progress, and Creativity.”
The university campus witnessed a series of diverse activities reflecting the university’s distinguished academic, scientific, and cultural journey over the past years.
The celebration was widely attended, including the President of the University, Professor Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri, members of the University Council, deans of the colleges, the Head of the Academics Syndicate in Babylon, community and cultural figures from the province, faculty members, staff, students, and alumni.
In his speech on this occasion, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri, expressed his pride in the university’s bright journey and its achievements across various fields. He emphasized the pivotal role the university has played in graduating qualified professionals who have contributed to building and advancing society.
He also affirmed the university’s commitment to continue its path towards excellence and leadership, developing its academic and research programs to keep pace with the latest scientific and technological advancements, and strengthening its role in community service and sustainable development.
The Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mansour Al-Khafaji, reviewed the most prominent research and scientific achievements attained by the university throughout its distinguished academic journey, highlighting its contributions to community service and the development of the province and the country as a whole.
The celebration concluded with the honoring of a number of distinguished professors and researchers in recognition of their efforts and contributions in elevating the status of the university. The event was marked by an atmosphere of joy and pride in belonging to this prestigious academic institution. Several exhibitions were also inaugurated, featuring agricultural, industrial, artistic, and cultural companies.
It is noteworthy that the University of Babylon was established on April 25, 1991, and currently includes 20 scientific and humanities colleges, in addition to multiple research centers and academic departments. Over the past years, it has achieved many accomplishments at both the local and international levels, establishing itself as one of the most prominent universities attracting students and affirming its position as one of Iraq’s leading academic institutions.
