College of Medicine, University of Babylon Holds Student Research Conference
As part of the celebrations for University Day, the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, organized the Student Research Conference with the participation of 44 scientific research projects completed by fourth-year students under the direct supervision of faculty members from all scientific departments.
The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Muhannad Abbas Al-Shallah, the Assistant Deans for Academic and Administrative Affairs, the Head of the Department of Community Medicine, and a large number of faculty members and students.
The conference commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the reading of Al-Fatiha in memory of Iraq’s martyrs. Afterward, the Dean of the College delivered the opening speech, welcoming the attendees and appreciating the significant academic efforts made by the faculty members and students in accomplishing these research projects.
The scientific research projects were distributed across three classrooms for presentation and discussion:
• The Farhan Baqir Hall, chaired by Professor Dr. Amir Kazem Hussein, with Assistant Professor Dr. Qais Ismail Ajam as the session rapporteur.
• The Ibn Al-Haytham Hall, chaired by Professor Dr. Sijal Fadel Farhoud, with Lecturer Dr. Tayeb Jaafar as the session rapporteur.
• The Ibn Al-Bitar Hall, chaired by Professor Dr. Zahid Mohammed Ali, with Assistant Professor Dr. Ashraf Mohammed Ali as the session rapporteur.
The scientific research projects addressed a wide range of medical topics aimed at disease control and improving the health conditions in our beloved country.
