211 Applicants Sit for the Postgraduate Competitive Examination at the College of Medicine – University of Babylon
The College of Medicine at the University of Babylon conducted the competitive examination for applicants to PhD, Master’s, and High Diploma programs for the academic year 2025/2026. The exam was overseen by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Muhannad Abbas Al-Shallah, in the presence of the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ashraf Muhammad Ali Hussein, the Director of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Lamees Abdul Razzaq, along with several department heads and faculty members.
During his visit to the college, the University’s Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mansour Al-Khafaji, inspected several examination halls to ensure the availability of necessary facilities and inquired from the students about the quality and comprehensiveness of the exam questions.
The Dean of the College explained that the competitive exam is one of the main criteria for admission, in addition to the English language proficiency test and the computer skills test, as stipulated by the regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the university. He also commended the significant efforts made by the Assistant for Scientific Affairs to uphold the educational process at the university according to the highest academic standards and for his commitment to ensuring the fairness and transparency of the admission process.
He added that the college provided all necessary requirements to ensure a comfortable and calm environment for applicants during the examination. The exam questions were prepared according to the approved guidelines, exam proctors were assigned to all examination halls, and proper procedures were followed for verifying the identity of each examinee in a smooth and professional manner. He concluded by wishing the applicants success in their academic pursuits.
A total of 211 applicants participated in the competitive exam, competing for seats in PhD, Master’s, and High Diploma programs. The candidates were distributed across three lecture halls.
After the exam, all applicants were interviewed by departmental committees chaired by the respective department heads, to assess and confirm their eligibility for postgraduate studies at the College of Medicine
