Distinguished Participation of the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, in the Academic Accreditation Workshop for Iraqi Medical Colleges
A delegation from the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, participated in the specialized workshop organized by the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges (NCAMC) of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the College of Medicine, University of Nineveh, held on September 24–25, 2025.
The delegation consisted of Professor Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, Dean of the College and member of the National Team of Evaluators; Professor Dr. Adel Hassan Al-Hindawi, member of the Accreditation Council and supervisor of the third domain; and Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Kadhim Al-Saadi, member of the National Evaluation Team, head of the first domain evaluators group, and a speaker at the workshop.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacities of the National Evaluation Team through intensive lectures and training sessions conducted over two days, with all activities delivered in an interactive format.
During the first day of the workshop, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Kadhim delivered an interactive lecture on feedback related to the pilot field visit carried out by the National Evaluation Team for the first domain.
At the conclusion of the workshop, a set of recommendations was submitted to help advance the process of academic accreditation. It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Medical Colleges Accreditation Council has achieved a global milestone by obtaining international recognition from the WFME (World Federation for Medical Education), making it qualified to grant international accreditation certificates to Iraqi medical colleges that meet the required standards.
