College of Medicine Wins First Place in the University of Babylon Chess Championship Today, Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the University of Babylon Chess Championship was held, hosted by the College of Materials Engineering with wide participation from all colleges of the university. The College of Medicine took part through its Student Activities Unit, represented by Captain Samir Sabri, Head of Student Activities. The results revealed the dominance of the College of Medicine in the top positions for both male and female students: • First place (male students): Hassanein Haleem Al-Jubawi (College of Medicine) • First place (female students): Zainab Mohammed Ubaid (College of Medicine) • Second place (male students): Hussein Mohammed Ubaid (College of Pharmacy) • Second place (female students): Mouj Fadel Sami (College of Pharmacy) • Third place (male students): Ameen Muta’a Taqi (College of Medicine) and Hussein Muhannad Ali (College of Information Technology) • Third place (female students): Abrar Rafe’ Badr (College of Nursing) and Ubaidah Saif Abd (College of Information Technology) Congratulations to the winners and to the College of Medicine for this well-deserved achievement. The team is expected to represent the university in the upcoming ministerial competitions. The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Abbasss Al-Shalah, directed that letters of appreciation be awarded to the winners in recognition of their role in promoting student activities and elevating the name of the College of Medicine.
