College of Medicine – University of Babylon Holds a Workshop on Publishing in Reputable International Journals
As part of the continuous education activities of the Department of Medical Physiology,
Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Tawfiq Naama, a faculty member at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, conducted a scientific workshop on publishing research in internationally indexed journals in Scopus and Clarivate.
The workshop included an explanation of the importance of publishing in global journals indexed in Scopus and Clarivate, and how such publications contribute to enhancing the scientific standing of researchers and their institutions. It also highlighted the need to avoid predatory and commercial journals.
Additionally, the workshop clarified the mechanisms for selecting the appropriate journal for a research paper, organizing the manuscript according to the journal’s instructions, the steps for submitting the paper and following up on it, as well as tools that assist researchers in preparing their manuscripts for publication. Frequently asked questions related to publishing in reputable international journals were also addressed.
The workshop was attended by the Head of the Physiology Department, faculty members from the department, several teaching staff from other departments, and administrative employees at the college. The session concluded by answering participants’ questions related to international publishing.
