A Committee from the Civil Defense Directorate Inspects Safety and Security Measures at the College of Medicine
Within the framework of joint cooperation, the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon received a specialized committee from the Civil Defense Directorate to conduct a routine field inspection and follow up on public safety and prevention requirements.
The visiting committee included Colonel Salam Saad Al-Zubaidi, Head of the Security and Safety Division at the Civil Defense Directorate, and Major Saddam Mohammed Ali, Officer of the Emergency Civil Defense Center. They were received and accompanied during the inspection tour by Engineer Zain Al-Abidin Salem Sahib, Head of the Civil Defense Committee at the College of Medicine.
The committee carried out an extensive inspection tour that covered the college corridors, lecture halls, scientific laboratories, and administrative offices. The inspection focused on:
• Examining the Hose Reel system and ensuring adequate water pressure and technical readiness.
• Checking heat and smoke detectors to verify the accuracy of their response.
• Inspecting fire extinguishers and confirming their proper distribution in accordance with approved specifications.
The committee emphasized the importance of regular maintenance of all safety systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance during emergencies. In turn, Mr. Zain Al-Abidin Salem Sahib reviewed the college’s plan for maintaining safety equipment and training staff on its proper use. The committee also praised the constructive cooperation and the college administration’s commitment to providing a safe educational environment that protects lives and property.
