College of Medicine – University of Babylon Organizes an Awareness Seminar on the Risks of Irregular Migration Under the patronage of the President of the University of Babylon, Prof. Dr. Amin Ajeel Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, and within the framework of its regular activities to promote social and legal awareness, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, held an expanded awareness seminar on the topic of (Reducing Irregular Migration). The seminar aimed to highlight the risks associated with irregular (illegal) migration from both humanitarian and legal perspectives, and to explain the consequences that young people may face when engaging in such pathways. The seminar featured academic and legal presentations delivered by: • Asst. Prof. Dr. Reem Abdul Rahim (Head of the Human Rights Unit) • Asst. Lecturer Iman Mohammed Burhan The lectures addressed the driving causes of migration, ways to strengthen the role of educational institutions in raising awareness among students and youth, and reviewed relevant international human rights charters and conventions in this context, emphasizing human dignity and rights.
