Department of Chemistry Organizes a Tree-Planting and Flower-Planting Campaign at the College of Medicine
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, the Department of Chemistry, in cooperation with the Agriculture Unit of the college, organized a campaign for tree planting and the cultivation of flowers and citrus trees throughout the corridors and gardens of the college.
The campaign included planting various types of perennial seedlings, seasonal flowers, and citrus trees that are suitable for the local environmental conditions. The initiative aimed to add an aesthetic touch to the entrances and walkways of the college, provide a comfortable psychological environment for students and staff, contribute to reducing pollution and increasing oxygen levels within the university campus, and enhance the spirit of cooperation among the academic staff and the administrative and technical units.
The campaign was implemented in the field by the staff of the Department of Chemistry, with direct supervision from specialists in the Agriculture Unit, who provided the necessary guidance on planting methods and the selection of the most suitable locations to ensure the continued growth and sustainability of these plants.
For his part, Professor Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, Dean of the College of Medicine, praised this initiative, affirming that the college continuously seeks to develop its facilities in ways that support both the academic and environmental mission of the University of Babylon.
