Babylon College of Medicine’s Examination Quality Assurance Committee Holds a Meeting to Review First-Course Results
Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, the Examination Quality Assurance Committee (QAAC) at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, held an expanded periodic meeting chaired by Professor Dr. Adel Hassan Al-Hindawi, Director of the Medical Education Unit, to discuss mechanisms for evaluating and improving examination performance.
The meeting included a thorough review of reports received from all scientific departments, which covered:
• Analysis of final examination results for the first course.
• Documentation of technical and academic committee observations regarding question design and pass rates.
• Enhancing the reliability of examinations and improving the quality of assessment in line with established academic standards.
The meeting concluded with the formulation of a set of recommendations and developmental proposals. The minutes were submitted to the respected Dean of the College in preparation for presentation to the College Council for necessary decisions that serve the educational process and students’ interests.
The Examination Quality Assurance Committee (QAAC) is considered one of the key pillars of the Medical Education Unit at the college. Since its establishment, it has been working on updating assessment methods and advancing the examination system to ensure competent educational outcomes.
