College of Medicine at the University of Babylon Holds a Training Workshop on “Bioinformatics and Molecular Docking”
The Department of Microbiology at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, organized a specialized training workshop entitled “Bioinformatics Workshop: Computational Molecular Docking in Staphylococcus aureus.” The workshop targeted faculty members and postgraduate students and was conducted as part of the department’s Continuing Education activities.
This two-day workshop reflects the College’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and Goal 4: Quality Education, through enhancing the research skills of academic staff and students in modern scientific technologies.
The workshop was delivered by:
• Assistant Lecturer Laith Jassim Mohammed
• Assistant Lecturer Murtadha Khalil
The workshop addressed both the theoretical and practical aspects of bioinformatics, with a special focus on computational molecular docking techniques and their important role in understanding molecular interactions within Staphylococcus aureus. This contributes to opening promising research opportunities for faculty members and postgraduate researchers toward developing advanced therapeutic and diagnostic solutions.
