College of Medicine, University of Babylon Holds a Joint Scientific Lecture within the Framework of the Sustainable Development Goals
Based on the directives of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, and within the activities of the Continuing Medical Education Unit, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being and Goal 4: Quality Education—the Departments of Microbiology and Pharmacology organized a joint scientific lecture entitled:
“Hepatitis A Virus Infection in the Community and New Therapeutic Medications”
The lecture addressed two main scientific themes presented by distinguished faculty members of the College:
1?? First Lecture:
Delivered by Professor Zaitoon Abdul Redha, who discussed Hepatitis A virus infection as a causative factor in the community, focusing on its etiological aspects and patterns of spread within the community.
2?? Second Lecture:
Delivered by Lecturer Russul Ali Kadhim, who reviewed new therapeutic medications related to Hepatitis A virus infection, highlighting recent pharmacological approaches and currently adopted medical protocols aimed at reducing the impact of this infection.
The lecture targeted a wide segment of the College’s academic community, including:
• Faculty members
• Administrative staff
• Postgraduate students
• Undergraduate students
This activity forms part of a series of scientific programs regularly organized by the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, to enhance health awareness and advance the scientific competencies of its staff and students, in a manner that supports and improves community health outcomes.
