Dr. Laith Jassim Mohammed, a faculty member in the Department of Microbiology at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, has published a peer-reviewed scientific research paper in the international journal Polymers, which is classified within the first quartile (Q1), with an impact factor of 4.9 and a CiteScore of 9.7. The study investigated the advanced biological properties of mannan compounds and their modern medical applications.
The research highlights the role of mannans as key raw materials in the development of targeted drug-delivery systems, the production of hydrogels and nanocomposites, as well as their contribution to supporting gut health and modulating immune responses.
