Department of Surgery at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon Continues End-of-Course Examinations for Sixth-Year Students
Within the academic curriculum of the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, the Department of Surgery conducted the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for sixth-year students (Group Four – the final group) on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Al-Hilla Teaching Hospital.
The examination included all students of the group and consisted of seven examination stations designed to assess students’ clinical and diagnostic skills. The assessment was carried out according to high scientific and professional standards to ensure accuracy of results and to evaluate students’ competence prior to graduation.
The examination process was supervised by the Sixth-Year Examination Committee of the Department of Surgery, composed of:
• Professor Adel Al-Hindawi
• Professor Rafid Al-Husseini
• Professor Ahmed Turki
• Professor Salah Al-Janabi
with the active participation of faculty members of the department and a distinguished group of consultant physicians, in productive cooperation with the administration of Al-Hilla Teaching Hospital, represented by Consultant Dr. Safaa Maad.
It is worth noting that this examination forms part of a series of end-of-course assessments, which also included:
• the Comprehensive Theoretical Examination (MCQ), held on Monday, covering the full course material
• the Slides Examination, designed to assess visual diagnostic skills
• and the Long Case Examination, scheduled to be completed over Wednesday and Thursday to finalize the course requirements for Group Four.
