College of Medicine, University of Babylon Organizes Awareness Festival on the Occasion of Earth Day
The Departments of Chemistry and Pathology at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon organized an awareness festival in celebration of Earth Day, under the patronage and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, along with the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Ashraf Mohammed Ali Hussein. The event was also attended by the Head of the Chemistry Department, Professor Tariq Hussein Mughair, and the Head of the Pathology Department, Assistant Professor Ahmed Raji Khairallah, with participation from faculty members and students. This initiative reflects the College’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and fostering a culture of sustainability.
The festival featured a guest lecture by Dr. Adnan Kareem Kahar, a faculty member at the College of Education for Human Sciences – Department of Geography, University of Babylon. He delivered an insightful scientific lecture on “Climate and Sustainability,” highlighting climate change and its direct impact on the environment and human health, while emphasizing the importance of adopting conscious daily practices to protect natural resources.
In recognition of his valuable scientific contribution, the Dean, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Ashraf Mohammed Ali Hussein, presented Dr. Adnan Kareem Kahar with a letter of appreciation for his active participation and his enriching lecture.
The festival also included field activities, such as distributing educational brochures to attendees, containing practical guidance on environmental preservation and reducing carbon footprint.
This event is part of the College’s ongoing scientific and awareness activities aimed at raising environmental consciousness and encouraging responsible behaviors that support sustainability, ensuring the preservation of our planet for future generations.
