The Council of the College of Medicine Holds Its Regular Periodic Meeting
The Council of the College of Medicine at University of Babylon held its regular periodic meeting under the chairmanship of the Dean of the College, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, and in the presence of the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, to discuss a number of issues listed on its agenda.
At the beginning of the session, the Dean extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the council members, teaching staff, and employees on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Adha, wishing everyone continued success and prosperity. He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the heads of scientific branches and all faculty members in recognition of their distinguished efforts and continuous dedication throughout the current academic year in serving the educational process.
As part of the College’s efforts to enhance and develop academic and administrative work, the Council hosted several officials responsible for key units and divisions during the meeting, including:
• Professor Adel Al-Hindawi, Director of the Medical Education Unit, and Professor Mohammed Abdul Kadhim Al-Saadi, Unit Rapporteur.
• Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Mohsen Mohammed, Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division.
• Professor Salman Mohammed Salman, Head of the Subcommittee for Academic Promotions.
The Council discussed with the guests the mechanisms for curriculum development, the implementation of international quality standards, and the facilitation of academic promotion procedures for faculty members, in a manner that ensures the College maintains its leading position among medical educational institutions.
The meeting concluded with the review and discussion of several disciplinary and student-related matters included in the agenda, and the appropriate decisions and recommendations were adopted in accordance with the applicable ministerial regulations and instructions.
