College of Medicine Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in Alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals
Under the patronage and support of the Deanship of the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, represented by the Dean, Professor Dr. Mohend Abbas Al-Shalah, and within the framework of promoting joint scientific activities and keeping pace with the latest medical developments, the Department of Community Medicine, in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, organized a specialized scientific seminar highlighting Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).
This seminar reflects the College’s commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
• SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
• SDG 4: Quality Education
• SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
The seminar was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ashraf Mohammed Ali Hussein, and featured two scientific lectures delivered by distinguished faculty members:
1. First Lecture
Title: Epidemiology and Prevention of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Lecturer: Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Kadhim Hussein
2. Second Lecture
Title: What You Know and What Is New About Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Lecturer: Assistant Professor Dr. Suha Jasim Watout
The seminar aimed to raise health awareness regarding the epidemiology and prevention of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, while also reviewing the latest international updates and advances in its medical management. This contributes to enhancing the scientific knowledge of participants and supports the provision of high-quality educational and healthcare services to the community.
