College of Medicine at the University of Babylon Holds a Scientific Seminar as Part of Continuing Education Unit Activities
Based on the directives of the Deanship of the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being and Goal 4: Quality Education—the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Internal Medicine, organized a specialized scientific seminar in Ibn Al-Nafis Hall.
The seminar was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Head of the Continuing Education Unit, several Heads of Academic Departments, and a number of faculty members. The program included two focused scientific lectures:
First Lecture:
Delivered by Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Abdulhussein Al-Hilli, entitled:
“Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)”
The lecture addressed the latest updates in the diagnosis and management of gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Second Lecture:
Delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Shukri Faiz Al-Saad, entitled:
“Beyond Blood Pressure”
The lecture highlighted advanced clinical perspectives that extend beyond conventional blood pressure measurements and their broader health implications.
On this occasion, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, emphasized that organizing such activities reflects the College’s continuous commitment to developing the capabilities of its academic staff and keeping them updated with the latest scientific advances across various medical fields, thereby supporting the educational process and enhancing healthcare services.
