The Council of the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon Holds Its Regular Periodic Session The Council of the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon held its regular session under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Mohend Abbass Al-Shalah, Dean of the College of Medicine, In the presence of the Associate Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, all Department Heads, and Professor Dr. Basim Abdul-Ali Abd as Secretary of the Council. to discuss a number of academic and administrative issues included in its agenda, with the aim of enhancing the scientific process and ensuring the smooth flow of academic work. The Council hosted Professor Dr. Salman Mohammed Salman, Head of the Subcommittee for Scientific Promotions, during which several pending academic promotion applications for faculty members of the college were reviewed and discussed. In a related context, the Council also hosted Professor Dr. Suhaila Fadhil Mohammed, Head of the Examination Quality Assurance Committee, to discuss the committee’s regular report. The discussion addressed the positive aspects of the examination process in order to strengthen and generalize distinguished practices, as well as proposing practical and effective solutions to technical and administrative obstacles to ensure that examinations comply with established quality standards. A significant part of the session was devoted to discussing the ongoing preparations for the upcoming examinations, with particular focus on the readiness of sixth-year students for the national ministerial evaluative examination, in addition to reviewing the preparedness of other academic stages for the end-of-second-semester examinations. The Council also discussed the preparation of annual assessment grades and their delivery to students within the specified timelines. Furthermore, the Council reviewed the preparation and announcement of examination schedules, the distribution of examination halls, the assignment of invigilation duties, and emphasized adherence to the applicable ministerial and university regulations and instructions. The session concluded with an emphasis on the importance of cooperation among the scientific departments and specialized committees to provide an ideal examination environment that ensures students’ comfort and the accuracy of examination results.
